Owen Hargreaves admits he’s amazed by Tottenham, comments on title hopes

Owen Hargreaves has been very impressed with how Tottenham have started the Premier League season

Owen Hargreaves has claimed that Tottenham Hotspur are “quietly” in the Premier League title race following their unbeaten start to the season.

The Lilywhites preserved their unbeaten record in the top flight on Saturday night when they twice came from behind to beat West Ham United 3-2 at White Hart Lane thanks to Harry Kane’s late brace.

Spurs have had to cope without Kane for long spells of the season and first-choice defender Toby Alderweireld has also been sidelined.

And former Manchester United midfielder Hargreaves had admitted that he has been amazed by how well Tottenham have started the season, given their injury problems.

Speaking on BT Sport’s Premier League Tonight show on Saturday, Hargreaves said: “I am amazed how Tottenham have managed without Toby Alderweireld and Harry Kane and have still managed to be undefeated and have the best defensive record.

“I think quietly they are in the title race.”
