Pat Nevin: This Chelsea player has really surprised me
The former Chelsea midfielder heaps praise on Antonio Conte's rising star Victor Moses
Pat Nevin admits he has been surprised with Victor Moses’ resurgence at Chelsea.
The Nigeria international has been a mainstay of Antonio Conte’s Chelsea side in recent weeks as the Blues maintain their excellent Premier League form.
Moses has been used in a left wing-back role in the Italian’s starting line-up since Conte switched to a 3-4-3 formation following their 3-0 loss at Arsenal in September.
The former Crystal Palace winger has earned rave reviews for his impressive attacking and defensive performances in what is a demanding role to play in the current system.
Moses has scored two goals and has made one assist in 11 Premier League appearances in the 2016-17 season so far.
Former Chelsea midfielder Nevin expressed his surprise at Moses’ perfomances ahead of the visit of Tottenham Hotspur in their next Premier League game at Stamford Bridge on Saturday evening.
“I didn’t see that Victor Moses one coming. He is doing absolutely fantastically,” Nevin told Newstalk’s Off The Ball show.
Chelsea have won their last six Premier League games thanks to a return of 17 goals and six successive clean sheets.
