Paul Scholes makes plea to Man United about Jose Mourinho
Paul Scholes wants to see Jose Mourinho be given time to prove himself at Manchester United
Paul Scholes has called for Jose Mourinho to be given time to make his mark at Manchester United this season.
The Portuguese coach has inevitably found himself under pressure in recent weeks after a poor run of form from his side.
Mourinho watched his Red Devils team crash to a disappointing 2-1 loss to Fenerbahce in the Europa League on Thursday night, with United also being without a win in four attempts in the Premier League heading into Sunday’s clash with Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium.
The Red Devils have been struggling to produce consistent form under their new boss and United head to South Wales desperate to secure the three points.
However, Scholes does not believe that a change of management is the solution to United’s woes, and instead urged his former employers to give Mourinho time to get the best out of his team.
Speaking on BT Sport after United’s loss to Fenerbahce on Thursday, Scholes said: “He has to be given time. We can’t keep having a manager for a year or two years and having to start all over again.
“I think if you’re given transfer windows, and then if the team’s totally different and it’s still not happening, you have to look at it.

“But to keep changing managers, you’re starting from square one every season.”
