Petr Cech delivers verdict on Man United’s title hopes after Arsenal draw

Petr Cech reflects on Arsenal's 1-1 draw with Manchester United in the Premier League on Saturday

Petr Cech believes that Manchester United are still in the race for the Premier League title this season – despite their draw with Arsenal on Saturday.

The Red Devils looked to be heading on their way towards victory over their old foes when Juan Mata drilled home the opener in the 68th minute at Old Trafford.

However, Arsenal earned a point from the game when Olivier Giroud came off the bench to head home an equaliser and secure a draw for Arsene Wenger’s men.

It ended up being a frustrating afternoon for United, who had dominated proceedings for much of the game.

However, Cech believes that the Red Devils are still in the hunt for the Premier League title, despite their stuttering recent form under Jose Mourinho.

Speaking in an interview with Arsenal’s website, Cech said: “The difference stays the same so they are still in.

“If they had lost I think it would have been different, but now everybody is pretty much in the distance.

“Let’s see what will be the results today and tomorrow and hopefully we won’t slip too far behind.”
