Granit Xhaka insisted that Arsenal will keep fighting for top spot in their Champions League group after a disappointing 2-2 draw with Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday night.

The north London knew that a home win would secure their qualification as Group A winners ahead of Ligue 1 holders PSG.

However, Edinson Cavani broke the deadlock for the visitors at the Emirates Stadium with a close-range finish in the first half.

Olivier Giroud levelled from the spot on the stroke of half-time after Alexis Sanchez won a dubious penalty before Marco Verratti’s own goal handed the hosts a slender 2-1 lead.

But PSG were level with 17 minutes remaining thanks to Brazil international Lucas Moura’s headed equaliser.

The stalemate means the French side will finish top of Group A with an anticipated comfortable win against Ludogorets in their final game, while Arsenal will make the difficult trip to Basel.

However, summer signing Xhaka was in no mood to back down as the Arsenal star posted the above photo on his Instagram page and wrote the following caption:

“👉To our fans thank you for your great support and we live to fight another day. ★★★ ⚓#GX29 @Champions League @AFC Arsenal #SlayTheNextGiant #UnderArmour”
