The Liverpool signing was left feeling inspired by a special match at The O2 on Sunday night
Marko Grujic was outnumbered at The O2 Arena on Sunday night as the Liverpool signing cheered on his compatriot Novak Djokovic in the World Tour Finals showpiece in the English capital.
The Serbian ace lost in straight sets to Andy Murray as the British player won the World Tour Finals title for the first time and finished 2016 as world number one.
Djokovic won the Australian Open and the French Open thanks to victories over Murray to hold all four Grand Slams at the same time before the Brit’s resurgence in the second half of the season.
And Liverpool’s Serbian midfielder Grujic posed for a photo in front of the court at The O2 Arena as he prepared to cheer on his compatriot on Sunday night.
Grujic posted the above photo and wrote the following caption on his Instagram page:
“Unforgettable night at the @theo2london and my first tennis match in life. 🎾💪Unfortunately @djokernole lost the match but he showed that he is still one of the biggest in history! 🇷🇸🇷🇸🇷🇸 #proudtobeserbian #no1e🇷🇸”
Liverpool played out a goalless draw with Southampton at St Mary’s in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
The Reds will host Sunderland in their next Premier League game at Anfield next weekend.
