Henrikh Mkhitaryan was thrilled with Armenia's 3-2 win against Montenegro on Friday night
Henrikh Mkhitaryan hasn’t had too much to cheer about in the 2016-17 season but the Manchester United signing was thrilled with Armenia’s sensational 3-2 comeback victory over Montenegro on Friday night.
The Armenians were winless in their 2018 World Cup qualifying campaign ahead of the visit of Stevan Jovetic and his Montenegro team-mates.
The visitors eased into a 2-0 lead ahead of half-time and looked to be coasting towards three points in the qualifying campaign.
However, the hosts hit back and Armenia sealed three points with a 94th-minute winner to notch up their first 2018 World Cup qualifying campaign victory.
Mkhitaryan posted the above photo on his Instagram page and wrote the following caption:
“So happy & proud of our victory today! We were down, but never out! Amazing spirit & three important points! #WCQ”
The 27-year-old moved to Manchester United in a £30m deal from Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund in the summer transfer window.
Mkhitaryan hasn’t made a Premier League appearance for Jose Mourinho’s side since a 2-1 loss to Manchester City at Old Trafford in September.
The Red Devils will host Arsenal in their next Premier League fixture on Saturday 19 November.
