The Liverpool midfielder thanks his team-mates and fans for all the support he has received after his injury setback
Philippe Coutinho has taken to Instagram to thanks his fans and team-mates for their support after the Liverpool star’s injury setback.
The Brazil international suffered suspected ankle ligament damage during the first half of Liverpool’s 2-0 victory over Sunderland at Anfield in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
Coutinho was replaced in the 33rd minute by Divock Origi and the Belgium international broke the deadlock with a close-range finish in the 75th minute at Anfield.
Liverpool vice-captain James Milner extended the home side’s lead with a penalty in added time to seal three points ahead of the EFL Cup quarter-final against Leeds United on Tuesday night.
And Coutinho posted the above photo on his Instagram page and wrote the following caption as Liverpool supporters nervously await news on the severity of the playmaker’s injury.
“I’d like to thank my family, fans and friends for all the positive messages, that’s very important to me.”
Coutinho has scored five goals and has made five assists in 13 Premier League appearances in the 2016-17 campaign so far.
