Zlatan Ibrahimovic reveals his delight at learning that a statue will be erected in his honour in Sweden
Zlatan Ibrahimovic has taken to social media to reveal his pride after he was honoured with a statue of himself in Stockholm.
The Manchester United striker is currently getting to grips with life at Old Trafford following his arrival at the club from Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer in the summer window.
The Swedish FA have announced that a 2.7 metre monument will be erected in honour of Ibrahimovic in Stockholm after the forward won the Golden Ball award for the country’s best male player for the 10th year in a row.
Ibrahimovic was clearly delighted by the news and posted the picture above on his personal Instagram account on Monday night, writing the caption: “After 20 years of hard work I got a statue in the capital city of Sweden.
“Who else.
“Super proud, happy, emotional, wow and thank you Sweden.”
The forward will be hoping to feature when Manchester United return to Europa League action on Thursday night with a crunch home clash against Dutch side Feyenoord at Old Trafford.
