Possible Arsenal boost as Wolfsburg open door to Germany striker’s sale
Wolfsburg have refused to rule out selling Julian Draxler in January amid Arsenal link
Wolfsburg would be open to the sale of Julian Draxler in the summer transfer window, according to the club’s sporting director.
The Daily Mirror reported on Tuesday that Draxler is a target for Arsene Wenger ahead of the 2017 January transfer window.
The Gunners have been regularly linked with a move for the Germany international over recent seasons.
The same article states that Arsenal could face competition from Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain for the German attacker.
And Wolfsburg director Klaus Allofs has opened the door for Draxler to leave the club with his latest remarks on the forward’s future at Wolfsburg.
“We’ll evaluate the situation differently, and we may do things differently next time,” Allofs told German TV channel Sport1 – as quoted by Goal.com.
“Does this mean letting him [Draxler] leave? Potentially.”
Draxler has failed to score in nine Bundesliga appearances in the 2016-17 season.
Arsenal are in fourth place in the Premier League table and three points behind leaders Chelsea after the Gunners drew 1-1 with Manchester United at Old Trafford.
The north London side will host Ligue 1 side PSG in the Champions League at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday night.
