Ray Parlour sends warning to Arsenal over Alexis Sanchez
Ray Parlour has a warning for Arsenal about the fitness levels of Alexis Sanchez
Ray Parlour has warned Arsenal that they will have to manage Alexis Sanchez’s fitness levels in the coming weeks in order to keep him in top shape.
The Chile international suffered a minor hamstring problem while on duty with his country earlier this month but has since returned to action for Arsenal.
Sanchez has started Arsenal’s last two games, the 1-1 draw with Manchester United and the 2-2 draw with PSG in the Champions League in midweek.
However, former Arsenal midfielder Parlour has warned Arsene Wenger that he will have to carefully manage Sanchez’s fitness levels in the build-up to the hectic festive period.
Speaking to the Alan Brazil podcast, Parlour said: “He had that big strapping around his hamstring on Chile duty. You’ve got to be very careful with those hamstrings. Once they go, you could be out for four to five weeks.
“They have to manage that at the moment. He is one of those players who wants to play every game. So it is hard to leave him out.”
Arsenal return to Premier League action on Sunday afternoon with a home clash against Bournemouth at The Emirates.
Arsenal are currently fifth in the table as they look to get back to winning ways in the Premier League.
The Gunners finished second and without a trophy last term.
