Rio Ferdinand reacts to Victor Moses’ display in Chelsea v Tottenham
Rio Ferdinand was thrilled by Victor Moses' display for Chelsea against Tottenham on Saturday
Rio Ferdinand heaped praise on Victor Moses following his man of the match performance for Chelsea against Tottenham on Saturday night.
The Nigeria international has been given a new lease of life in a wing-back role for Chelsea in recent weeks and was in top form once again for the Blues against Spurs.
Chelsea fell behind in the first half when Christian Eriksen fired Spurs into the lead, before Pedro equalised on the stroke of half-time.
Moses then fired Chelsea into the lead after running the length of the pitch to fire home Diego Costa’s cross.
And Ferdinand was gushing with praise for Moses after the final whistle and highlighted the wing-back’s work-rate.
Speaking on BT Sport after the game, Ferdinand said: “All young kids watching the game should be admiring this player.
“He ran 60 or 70 yards to get on the back post as a wing-back, and he got his rewards. It’s a fantastic goal.”
Saturday’s win lifted Chelsea back to the top of the Premier League table and one point clear of second-placed Liverpool.
The Blues finished in 10th place in the Premier League last season.
