Roberto Firmino reveals secret to Liverpool partnership with Philippe Coutinho

The Liverpool forward lifts the lid on the secret behind his successful partnership with Philippe Coutinho

Roberto Firmino says he thinks the same way as his Brazilian and Liverpool team-mate Philippe Coutinho.

The Reds have made an impressive start to the 2016-17 Premier League season thanks to the form of Jurgen Klopp’s exciting attacking players.

Coutinho has scored five times and has made five assists in 11 Premier League appearances so far to underline his status as one of the division’s best players.

Firmino has also netted five times but the former Hoffenheim man has created three goals for his Liverpool team-mates in an encouraging start to the season.

The Brazilian duo have established a formidable partnership since Klopp took over the reins at the Anfield outfit back in October 2015.

And Firmino has lifted the lid on how the pair have become so devastatingly good at working in tandem ahead of Liverpool’s trip to Southampton in their next Premier League fixture on Saturday afternoon.

“We think the same way, we know what we’re going to do before receiving the ball,” Firmino told Liverpool’s website.

“We always understand each other in the games and with our skill everything has turned out well. Of course this is the fruits of our labour.

“Philippe is a magician, who makes magic in each shot, who is always helping with scoring goals and his incredible moves; he is always doing his best on the field.”

Liverpool are a point ahead of second-placed Chelsea after moving to the top of the Premier League table thanks to a 6-1 win against Watford ahead of the international break.
