Roy Keane names one area where Arsenal have improved this season
The Manchester United legend believes Arsenal are better at grinding out results this season
Roy Keane believes Arsenal have become better at grinding out results this season.
The Gunners were outplayed by Paris Saint-Germain at The Emirates on Wednesday night but Arsene Wenger’s side managed to salvage a 2-2 draw in front of their own supporters.
Uruguay striker Edinson Cavani broke the deadlock in the Champions League clash before Olivier Giroud scored from the penalty spot to restore parity after Alexis Sanchez won a dubious penalty.
Marco Verratti’s own goal handed Arsenal a slender lead but Lucas Moura restored parity with a header to leave Arsenal facing the prospect of finishing in second place in Group A.
Arsenal secured an undeserved point in a 1-1 draw at Manchester United last weekend after substitute Giroud cancelled Juan Mata’s strike with less than 90 seconds of normal time remaining at Old Trafford.
The Gunners are unbeaten since a 4-3 defeat by Liverpool at The Emirates in their opening Premier League fixture of the 2016-17 season.
Former Manchester United captain Keane offered up some reluctant praise for Wenger and his Arsenal side after their latest Champions League disappointment.
“They were average,” Keane told ITV Sport on Wednesday night.
“Their form has not been great recently, but I suppose what they have improve on is grinding out results.
“The couple of goals they gave away will really hurt them because we keep going on about needing to top the group, but you would expect PSG to finish them off now. They were the better side on the night.”
