Ryan Giggs says there are plenty of reasons for Manchester United to be positive in the wake of their 1-1 draw with Arsenal on Saturday.

Juan Mata gave Jose Mourinho’s the men the lead in the 68th minute with a low finish but Olivier Giroud came off the bench to head home an equaliser for the visitors.

The Red Devils have made something of a stuttering start to life under Jose Mourinho and have failed to string together a series of wins since the opening stages of the season.

However, Giggs says that he was pleasantly surprised by what he saw from Mourinho’s men against the Gunners on Saturday and is feeling optimistic about the season ahead.

Speaking on Sky Sports after Saturday’s draw, Giggs said: “Just concentrate on the next game. They’ve got three home games now.

“There are a lot of positives from today. Jose’s experienced enough, but take all of the positives you can.

“You’ve just got to win the next game and get some momentum, because there’s not been any momentum so far this season.”
