Sol Campbell compares Harry Kane to Tottenham legend
Sol Campbell believes that Harry Kane has a similar style to former Tottenham star Teddy Sheringham
Sol Campbell believes that there are similarities between Harry Kane and Tottenham legend Teddy Sheringham.
Kane has been sidelined since September for Spurs with an ankle injury but was one of the Lilywhites’ top performers last season as they challenged for the Premier League title.
The England forward was voted as the PFA young player of the year by his peers after a sparkling campaign for Mauricio Pochettino’s men.
Spurs appear to have been missing Kane’s clinical touch in front of goal in recent weeks, with Pochettino’s side winless in six games in all competitions heading into the north London derby clash with Arsenal on Sunday at The Emirates.
And former Arsenal and Tottenham star Campbell admits that Kane reminds him of Sheringham.
Speaking exclusively to 888sport, Campbell said: “The best all-round striker I ever played with was probably Teddy Sheringham. Jurgen came close.
“Teddy didn’t have the running ability but he had time, could pass, and had intelligence. He was savvy.
“There are similarities between those two guys though Kane is more mobile. They have similar technique and in the type of goals that they score.”
Arsenal head into Sunday’s showdown in second place in the table and level on points with leaders Manchester City.
Tottenham, meanwhile, are a further three points behind their bitter local rivals ahead of the north London derby.
