Theo Walcott’s wife has set the Arsenal forward a target goal tally
Theo Walcott's wife Melanie has challenged him to score 10 goals for Arsenal by Christmas
Theo Walcott has been given an incentive by his wife to score 10 goals for Arsenal before Christmas.
The Arsenal forward has been in fine form for the north London side so far this term and has already netted nine times for the Gunners to help them up to fourth place in the Premier League table.
Walcott has produced some much improved attacking displays for the Gunners this term after previously failing to produce consistent performances for Arsene Wenger’s men.
And the England international, whose wife Melanie gave birth to the couple’s second son last week, has revealed that his partner has promised to buy him a new coffee machine if he can score 10 goals by Christmas.
Speaking in an interview with Arsenal’s website, Walcott said: “I want to get 10 so I can get a coffee machine for Christmas from my wife!.
“She said, ‘If you get 10 goals before Christmas, I’ll buy you this coffee machine’ so I can’t wait for that – that should hopefully happen.”
Arsenal are currently three points behind leaders Chelsea in the Premier League table.
The Gunners return to top flight action when they take on West Ham United at the London Stadium on Saturday night.
