Thierry Henry reacts to Arsenal’s 3-1 win over Bournemouth
Arsenal returned to winning ways with a 3-1 win over Bournemouth in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon
Thierry Henry admitted Arsenal were lucky to beat Bournemouth after they edged to a 3-1 win to return to winning ways in the Premier League.
Arsenal took the lead in the 12th minute when an error from Steve Cook allowed Alexis Sanchez to fire home from close range.
However, the visitors drew level shortly after when Callum Wilson dispatched his penalty after he was brought down by Nacho Monreal in the box.
Arsenal went ahead again in the 53rd minute when Theo Walcott headed home Nacho Monreal’s floated cross to make it 2-1.
And the superb Sanchez made the points secure in stoppage time when he tapped home Olivier Giroud’s low pass in the box.
Speaking on Sky Sports after the game, Henry said: “Arsenal won. I think it was harsh on Bournemouth.
“Yes, they made a mistake on the first goal but that’s their mistake at the end of the day and they conceded the goal on the counter at the end.
“At the end it looked like it was going towards a 2-2 more than anything else.
“But Arsenal got the job done.”
The win left Arsenal fourth in the Premier League table and three points behind leaders Chelsea after 13 games of the new season.
Arsenal host Southampton in the League Cup quarter-finals on Wednesday night.
