Tony Cascarino makes bold prediction about Tottenham signing ahead of Chelsea clash
The Chelsea legend doesn't expect Vincent Janssen to get another chance in the Tottenham Hotspur side
Tony Cascarino believes Vincent Janssen is out of chances to impress in the Tottenham Hotspur side and won’t feature against Chelsea on Saturday evening.
Mauricio Pochettino started with the Netherlands international on Saturday evening as West Ham United made the short trip across London to White Hart Lane.
However, Janssen struggled to have an impact on the London derby and Son Heung-min replaced the misfiring centre-forward in the second half.
Tottenham talisman Harry Kane went on to score twice in the final minutes to rescue three points in a 3-2 victory over the Hammers.
Janssen has scored one Premier League goal from the penalty spot in 12 appearances since his £19m move from Eredivisie side AZ Alkmaar in the summer transfer window.
Former Chelsea forward Cascarino doesn’t expect to see Janssen in Pochettino’s starting line-up against Antonio Conte’s side at Stamford Bridge in Saturday evening’s Premier League clash.
“Tottenham have Chelsea up next. I think you’ll find Vincent Janssen being on the bench from now week in, week out. That was the last chance against West Ham,” Cascarino told The Game podcast.
Janssen scored 27 times in 33 Eredivisie appearances in the 2015-16 season to earn a big-money move to the Premier League side.
