Tottenham legend: This Chelsea star making his point after Jose Mourinho snub
The Tottenham legend delivers his verdict on Chelsea wing-back Victor Moses
Garth Crooks says Victor Moses is “sticking two fingers up” at Jose Mourinho after the Chelsea star’s incredible resurgence at Stamford Bridge.
The Nigeria international was overlooked during Mourinho’s second reign in charge of the west London club as he was sent out on loan to Liverpool, Stoke City and West Ham United.
However, new Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has found a place for the former Wigan Athletic man in his Blues side after his tactical switch to a 3-4-3 system at the end of September.
And Moses continued his excellent form on Saturday afternoon as the versatile winger-back scored Chelsea’s winner in a 2-1 victory over bitter rivals Tottenham Hotspur at Stamford Bridge.
The Super Eagles star has now scored three times and has made one assist in 12 Premier League appearances in the 2016-17 campaign under Conte.
Former Tottenham forward Crooks singled out Moses for special praise ahead of Chelsea’s trip to title rivals Manchester City in the Premier League’s early kick-off on Saturday afternoon.
“It’s as though the same players who downed tools under ex-manager Jose Mourinho’s leadership are the same ones who appear to be sticking two fingers up to him now,” Crooks told BBC Sport.
“One of those players is Victor Moses, who the Portuguese totally disregarded during his second spell at the club and who is playing out of his skin at the moment.”
