Michael Owen states his prediction for Tottenham v West Ham
Michael Owen looks ahead to Tottenham's clash with West Ham United on Saturday
Michael Owen is backing Harry Kane to fire Tottenham Hotspur to victory over West Ham United at White Hart Lane on Saturday evening.
Spurs head into the game looking to return to winning ways after their 1-1 draw with Arsenal at The Emirates before the international break.
Mauricio Pochettino’s men have drawn their last four games in a row in the Premier League to leave them off the pace in the race for the title.
Tottenham earned plenty of praise for their impressive displays last season as they challenged for the Premier League title.
And former Liverpool striker Owen believes that Spurs will have too much for the Hammers at White Hart Lane this weekend.
Writing in his column for BetVictor, Owen said: “Spurs are the only unbeaten side in the division, but they are also without a win in seven games in all competitions and they need to get back to winning ways if they are to mount a serious title threat.
The Hammers have only won one of their last 15 Premier League visits to the Lane and I don’t see them improving on that moderate record in Saturday’s early evening kick-off.
“Spurs missed Harry Kane but the England international was back among the goals at the Emirates last time – I expect him to find the back of the Hammers net.”
Kane marked his return from an ankle injury with a goal in the 1-1 draw with Arsenal before the international break.
