Zlatan Ibrahimovic: Why I left PSG to join Man United

Zlatan Ibrahimovic lifts the lid on his thinking behind his transfer to Manchester United from Paris Saint-Germain

Zlatan Ibrahimovic says that his move to Manchester United in the summer was motivated by his desire for a fresh challenge.

The Swedish striker joined the Red Devils from Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer and has become a regular fixture in the Manchester United side so far this season.

Ibrahimovic has already scored eight goals for his new club as he looks to taste success in England for the first time in his career.

The 35-year-old will be keen to add some silverware to his collection as he approaches the end of his lengthy career.

And Ibrahimovic has revealed that the desire for a new challenge was the main reason why he opted to link up with Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford.

Speaking in an interview with Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet, Ibrahimovic said: “It was about the challenge really, and I will never say no to a challenge.

“This is what I wanted; coming to one of the world’s biggest clubs, that has had troubles and not won much of late, and try the Premier League. That is the challenge.”
