Adam Lallana: This Liverpool forward one of best in Premier League
The England midfielder talks up his Liverpool team-mate Roberto Firmino
Adam Lallana believes Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino has established himself as one of the best players in the Premier League.
The Reds forward has been in superb form for Jurgen Klopp’s side in the 2016-17 Premier League season so far.
Firmino has scored five times and has made three assists in 14 Premier League appearances to underline his continued important to the Merseyside outfit.
Liverpool will be hoping that Firmino can continue his excellent run particularly in light of their disappointing 4-3 loss to Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium.
Speaking to Sky Sports ahead of that defeat on the south coast, Lallana suggested that Firmino’s work-rate has helped the Brazil international to established himself as one of the Premier League’s best players.
“Roberto Firmino has been playing as a false number nine for us,” Lallana told Sky Sports.
“He is one of the hardest working footballers I’ve ever played with. That part of his game is one of the reasons why he is one of the best players in the Premier League at the minute.”
Liverpool are in third place in the Premier League table and four points behind leaders Chelsea after 14 games in the 2016-17 season so far.
