Alan Shearer delivers glowing verdict on Man United signing

The Premier League legend says Man United signing Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been a great addition to the English top flight

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been a great addition to Manchester United and the Premier League, according to Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer.

The former Sweden international was the second of Jose Mourinho’s four summer signings at Old Trafford after Ibrahimovic completed a free transfer to Manchester United from Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain.

Ibrahimovic has made a brilliant start to life as a Manchester United player despite concerns over the 35-year-old’s suitability to the Premier League following a long career on the continent.

The former Barcelona and Juventus striker scored Manchester United’s second goal in the home side’s 3-1 victory over Sunderland to take his Premier League tally to 12 goals in the 2016-17 season so far.

In fact, Ibrahimovic has now scored 11 times in his last 10 games in all competitions to underline his world-class ability.

Former Newcastle striker Shearer has been impressed with Ibrahimovic’s performances in a Manchester United shirt so far this term.

“He is a great addition to the Premier League to have someone of his stature with his hunger and desire. A lot of kids can look up to him,” Shearer told Match Of The Day on Monday night.

Ibrahimovic has played for Ajax, Juventus, Inter Milan, Barcelona, AC Milan and PSG during a decorated club career.
