Alan Shearer reacts to Mesut Ozil’s performance in Arsenal’s 2-1 loss at Man City on Twitter

The Premier League legend believes Manchester City deserved to beat Arsenal 2-1 at the Etihad Stadium

Alan Shearer appeared to criticise Mesut Ozil’s performance after Manchester City were 2-1 winners against Arsenal at The Etihad on Sunday afternoon.

The Gunners edged into a first-half lead thanks to Theo Walcott’s fifth-minute strike on Eastlands to hand Arsene Wenger’s men the advantage in the top of the table clash.

However, Arsenal failed to extend their lead and Leroy Sane prompted a momentum shift inside two minutes of the second half following the forward’s first Premier League goal.

And the Citizens were ahead with 19 minutes remaining after Raheem Sterling placed a finish past Arsenal shot stopper Petr Cech.

Former Newcastle United striker Shearer delivered his verdict on the clash after Manchester City’s significant win in the title race on Twitter, including a blunt reference to Ozil.

Arsenal are in fourth place and nine points behind leaders Chelsea after their 2-1 loss to Manchester City.

The Citizens hoisted themselves above Arsenal and Liverpool into second place in the table.
