Alan Smith comments on Arsenal’s Premier League title hopes this season
Alan Smith has his say on Arsenal's Premier League title hopes under Arsene Wenger this season
Alan Smith feels that Arsenal will be contenders for the Premier League title right until the end of the season.
The Gunners have been in decent form in the Premier League since their opening-weekend defeat at the hands of Liverpool at The Emirates.
Arsene Wenger has also watched his team book their place in the last 16 of the Champions League, even if it looks like the Gunners are likely to end up in second place in their group behind PSG.
The north London side are looking to go one better than last season, when they finished second in the table and 10 points behind surprise champions Leicester City.
And former Arsenal star Smith feels that the Gunners have what it takes to mount a serious title challenge this season.
Speaking to Sky Sports before Saturday’s trip to West Ham, Smith said: “At the moment they’re up there. They’re still firmly in the title race.
“It was a very disappointing performance at Old Trafford a fortnight ago, which brought doubts into people’s minds, but the quality is still there between now and the end of the season.”
