Alex Iwobi makes vow to Arsenal fans ahead of Everton clash

Alex Iwobi is determined to step his game up for Arsenal this season...

Alex Iwobi has promised to show Arsenal fans what he can do in the coming games after he netted his first Premier League goal of the season on Saturday.

Fresh from scoring in the 4-1 Champions League win over Basel last week, Iwobi netted Arsenal’s third goal to wrap up a 3-1 victory over Stoke City in the Premier League at The Emirates.

It marked Iwobi’s first Premier League goal of the season and helped to secure the three points against the Potters.

Iwobi has earned plenty of praise since breaking into the Arsenal first team under Arsene Wenger last season.

And the midfielder is now determined to prove his worth on a regular basis for Arsenal moving forwards.

Speaking in an interview with Arsenal Player, Iwobi said: “I was able to get a goal last week in the Champions League and now I was able to get one in the Premier League.

“I just need to kick on now and show what I can do to get into the starting team again.

“It was much needed win – even though we started off a bit shaky, we were able to get through in the end and it was a great performance from the team.

“We’d like to clean a sheet but we were able to get three points, we defended well and it will boost our confidence.”

Arsenal are currently preparing for their Premier League trip to Goodison Park to take on Everton on Tuesday night.
