Alexis Sanchez: This is what I do when I’m not thinking about Arsenal
Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez reveals how he likes to unwind away from football
Alexis Sanchez has lifted the lid on how he likes to take his mind off football when he is not playing for Arsenal.
The Chile international is widely regarded as one of the Premier League’s top attacking talents and has earned plenty of new admirers since his arrival in England from Barcelona in the summer of 2014.
Sanchez will be hoping to fire Arsenal to the Premier League title this season, with the forward having already netted more than 10 goals in the top flight this season.
However, the 27-year-old also likes to take his mind off his profession occasionally and the Chilean has lifted the lid on the ways he likes to unwind when not involved in football.
Speaking in an interview with Arsenal’s website, Sanchez said: “I have many ways of relaxing, such as listening to music, walking the dogs in the park and drinking mate [a traditional South American caffeine drink].
“I listen to different types of music, such as reggaeton, and when it comes to bands I listen to Aventura, Bryan Adams or Pavarotti to mention a few. Depending on the day I listen to one style of music or another and I am learning a lot of English thanks to my favourite song lyrics.
“I am not a piano expert at all but I can play it a bit too. I learnt playing a handful of songs. Playing the keyboard relaxes me too. I can play Bryan Adams or the Titanic movie soundtrack.
“Our minds are always focused on football. Sometimes you must put football aside for a while and put your attention on some other things. I am not a keyboard expert but I find it helps me to de-stress.”
Arsenal travel to Manchester City in their next Premier League game on Sunday afternoon as they look to keep themselves in the race for the title.
The Gunners have not won the top-flight crown since their famous unbeaten triumph in the 2003-04 season.
