Antonio Conte lavishes praise on Chelsea star: He is the best in the world

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte says Thibaut Courtois is the best goalkeeper in the world

Antonio Conte has heaped praise on Thibaut Courtois for his sparkling performances for Chelsea in recent weeks and says that the goalkeeper is one of the best in the world.

The Belgian shot-stopper has been a regular fixture in the Chelsea team this season and kept another clean sheet on Wednesday night as the Blues were 1-0 winners at Sunderland thanks to Cesc Fabregas’ first-half winner.

Chelsea have now won their last 10 games in the Premier League to leave them six points clear at the top of the English top-flight table heading into the hectic festive period in the top flight.

Courtois’ solid performances in the Chelsea goal have been a key part of the Blues’ strong form in the top flight.

And Chelsea boss Conte has expressed his delight at having the luxury of being able to field one of the best goalkeepers in the world every week.

Conte was quoted as saying by Metro after Wednesday’s win: “For Thibaut it’s more difficult because for the whole game you wait and you could lose concentration but he is a fantastic goalkeeper.

“One of the best in the world, if not the best, and I’m pleased to have him in my team.”
