Antonio Conte reacts to Cesc Fabregas’ performance for Chelsea against West Brom

Antonio Conte praises Cesc Fabregas for his impact in Chelsea's 1-0 win over West Brom

Antonio Conte has once again heaped praise on Cesc Fabregas for his contribution to Chelsea and underlined his importance to the west London club.

The Spanish midfielder came off the bench on Sunday and notched up the assist for Diego Costa’s goal as Chelsea secured a 1-0 win over West Brom at Stamford Bridge to continue their winning run in the Premier League.

Chelsea have now won their last nine games in the Premier League to establish themselves as the leading candidates to win the title after 15 matches of the new season.

Fabregas has found his first-team opportunities under Conte somewhat restricted this season but has managed to deliver the goods whenever called upon.

And the Spanish midfielder once again earned the praise of his manager on Sunday after his contribution to Chelsea’s victory in west London.

Speaking at his post-match news conference, Conte said: “Cesc is an important player for us.

“We all know his quality, it’s very clear. Today it was important to change the cards on the table and find a new solution to cut the point of reference for West Brom.

“I put on a player who is very good technically, and with a great personality.”
