Antonio Conte’s reply when asked if Chelsea can win the title

Antonio Conte discusses Chelsea's Premier League title hopes after their strong start to the season

Antonio Conte is refusing to get carried away with Chelsea’s strong start to the Premier League season.

The Blues have been the Premier League’s most consistent team in recent weeks and the west London side continued their fine form with a brilliant 3-1 comeback win at Manchester City on Saturday lunchtime.

That victory was Chelsea’s eighth in a row in the Premier League and left Conte’s men flying high at the top of the Premier League table after 14 games.

It is in stark contrast to Chelsea’s dismal form last season, when the Blues ended up 10th in the table and without a trophy following Jose Mourinho’s sacking 12 months ago.

However, despite his side’s fine form and impressive displays, Conte is refusing to get carried away with the Blues’ strong start.

Asked if Chelsea can win the title this season, Conte told his post-match news conference: “We have to wait for the first part of the season because we know this league is not easy.

“Now we are playing very well. We are playing good football, we have good confidence, but it’s important to continue to work and improve. There is room to improve.”
