Antonio Valencia: These two Man United players are already legends

Antonio Valencia talks up the importance of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Michael Carrick to Manchester United

Antonio Valencia has described Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Michael Carrick as two Manchester United “legends”.

The Ecuador international was voted as the Red Devils’ player of the month for November after his sparkling displays for Jose Mourinho’s men.

Valencia beat off competition from his Manchester United team-mates Ibrahimovic and Carrick win the monthly prize.

And the winger has revealed that he is a huge admirer of the Manchester United duo and talked up their importance to Mourinho’s side.

Speaking in an interview with United’s website ahead of Saturday’s Premier League trip to West Brom, Valencia said: “These two legends are having such a great season.

“I think it would only be right if we could award three first prizes for the month because they’ve done really, really well.

“Carrick and Ibra are great players and they deserve big congratulations as well.”

Manchester United finished in fifth place and won the FA Cup under Louis van Gaal last season before the Dutchman was sacked and replaced by Mourinho in the summer.
