Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger: This Chelsea signing has made a huge difference

Arsene Wenger admits that he has been impressed by David Luiz's form since his return to Chelsea

Arsene Wenger has praised the impact that David Luiz has had at Chelsea since his return to the west London club in the summer.

The Brazil international was brought back to Stamford Bridge by Blues boss Antonio Conte and has been one of Chelsea’s standout performers to help them move to the top of the Premier League table.

Luiz has been excelling for the Blues in the centre of Chelsea’s three-man defence and has earned plenty of praise since his return to the club from Paris Saint-Germain.

Chelsea have firmly established themselves as the favourites to win the Premier League title this season.

And Wenger believes that Conte deserves credit for his bold decision to bring Luiz back to Stamford Bridge in the summer.

Wenger is quoted as saying by The Daily Express: “They have addressed well their problems. You have to give credit to Conte.

“They bought Luiz who stabilised their defensive record and they have been the most consistent until now.”

Chelsea’s sharp upturn in form this season has been in stark contrast to their struggles last term, when they finished 10th and without a trophy.
