Arsenal boss Wenger discusses Chelsea’s form under Conte

Arsene Wenger has been impressed by Chelsea but says it is too early for them to be considered as title favourites

Arsene Wenger has admitted that he has been very impressed by Chelsea’s form under new boss Antonio Conte – but insists that there is no clear favourite to win the Premier League title this season.

The Blues continued their fine form on Sunday when they secured a 1-0 win over West Brom at Stamford Bridge to stretch their winning run in the Premier League to nine games.

Chelsea’s form in recent weeks is in stark contrast to their stuttering displays last season, when the Blues finished 10th and without a trophy.

The west London club’s fine form has inevitably seen them established as one of the favourites to win the Premier League title this season.

However, Wenger feels it is too early to determine exactly which team will lift the Premier League trophy in May.

Speaking at a news conference on Monday morning, Wenger said: “I believe they (Chelsea) will be one of the candidates. But there is no super favourite at the moment.

“When you look at the league it is down to consistency. It is very open, very interesting.”
