Alan Smith believes that there is plenty of cause for optimism at Liverpool at the moment.
The Reds have been one of the Premier League’s top teams this season following Jurgen Klopp’s appointment as the club’s new manager back in October 2015.
Klopp’s side are currently flying high towards the top of the table as they look to at least break back into the top four of the Premier League this term.
Liverpool endured a frustrating campaign last season as they ended up in eighth place in the Premier League and without a trophy, despite reaching the Europa League and League Cup finals.
However, Arsenal legend Smith has been extremely impressed by what he has seen from the Merseyside outfit this season and feels that the Reds are set for a bright future under new boss Klopp.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Smith said: “A really strong start under Jurgen Klopp. The longer he is there, the more they get to know his methods and his demands.
“Liverpool now, with the new stand at Anfield and surroundings, it’s got a different feel. They’re building something.”
Liverpool opted to sack Brendan Rodgers in October of last year and replace him with Klopp after a stuttering start to the season.
