Arsenal legend explains why Tottenham have bright future

Ray Parlour believes Tottenham Hotspur have a very bright future

Ray Parlour believes Tottenham Hotspur have a bright future under Mauricio Pochettino.

The Lilywhites have endured a mixed start to the 2016-17 Premier League season despite adding five new players to his squad in the summer transfer window.

Tottenham finished in third place in the Premier League table last term after challenging eventual champions Leicester City for much of the campaign.

Spurs have lost two of their opening 15 Premier League games this season following defeats by Chelsea and Manchester United in recent weeks.

However, former Arsenal midfielder Parlour believes Tottenham are in a good position to have an exciting future under Pochettino.

“There is quite a bright future at Tottenham. There is a new stadium which is being built at the moment. You’ve got all the young players who signed up for long-term deals. Harry Kane did so recently. Hugo Lloris will be the next one,” Parlour told Sky Sports News HQ.

Tottenham have struggled without Belgium centre-half Toby Alderweireld and England striker Harry Kane for a large portion of the 2016-17 season.

Spurs crashed out of the Champions League after a disappointing group-stage campaign against CSKA Moscow, Bayer Leverkusen and AS Monaco.
