Arsenal legend predicts where Tottenham will finish this season

Alan Smith explains where he expects Tottenham to finish in the Premier League this season

Alan Smith believes that Tottenham will end up being one of the main teams challenging for a top-four finish in the Premier League this season.

The Lilywhites are aiming to go one better than last term after they ended up in third place following their title battle with Leicester City.

It has been something of a mixed start to the season for Spurs, who were dumped out of the Champions League at the group stage last month after their third-placed finish last term.

However, the north London club were boosted by the news that Harry Kane had committed his future to the club by signing a new long-term contract last week.

And former Arsenal star Smith feels that Tottenham will be one of the top teams competing for a top-four finish in the Premier League come the end of the season.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Smith said: “It was a damaging defeat at Chelsea, breaking their unbeaten record, and maybe they haven’t quite found the pizzazz of last season, but they’re still strong in most areas.

“I haven’t seen much to suggest they won’t be in and around the top four this season.”
