Arsenal legend: This is what Zlatan Ibrahimovic is lacking at Man United
Charlie Nicholas delivers his verdict on Zlatan Ibrahimovic's start to life at Manchester United
Charlie Nicholas believes that Zlatan Ibrahimovic does not have the support he needs from his Manchester United team-mates on the pitch.
The Swedish striker is currently getting used to life in England after moving to Manchester United on a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer.
Ibrahimovic has made a strong start to the season and has already scored eight goals in 13 Premier League games for Jose Mourinho’s team.
However, the Red Devils have been struggling to produce consistent form in the top flight this season and currently trail leaders Chelsea by 13 points.
And former Arsenal star Nicholas feels that Ibrahimovic is not hitting top gear because of the players he has alongside him.
Speaking to Sky Sports News HQ on Wednesday morning, Nicholas said: “I thought Zlatan Ibrahimovic was different class against Everton but he didn’t have the support.
“He’s Eric Cantona in an average team, holding it up with two or three men around him but nobody is running into that space he’s creating.”
Manchester United are currently preparing for their crunch Premier League clash against Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.
The Red Devils were held to a 1-1 draw by Everton last weekend.
