Mark Lawrenson states prediction for Arsenal v Stoke City
The Liverpool legend is tipping Alexis Sanchez to fire Arsenal to victory over Stoke City at The Emirates
Mark Lawrenson is backing Alexis Sanchez to fire Arsenal to victory over Stoke City at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
The South American forward has been in scintillating form in the Premier League and the Champions League this season to help Arsene Wenger’s side make good progress in both competitions.
Sanchez scored a second-half hat-trick at the London Stadium last weekend to help fire the Gunners to a 5-1 victory over West Ham United and hoist the north London side up to second place in the table.
The Chile international produced another mesmerising performance to help Wenger’s men ease to a 4-1 victory over Swiss outfit Basel in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
Sanchez has scored 11 goals and has made four assists in 14 Premier League appearances in the 2016-17 season so far.
Former Liverpool defender Lawrenson believes Sanchez will be the key man once again after tipping the Gunners to beat Mark Hughes’ side at the Emirates Stadium.
“Stoke are on a decent run too and have got themselves in a really comfortable position in the top half of the table,” Lawrenson told BBC Sport.
“I don’t see them causing Arsenal too many problems at Emirates Stadium, though, and I think Sanchez will find a way through, again.”
