Arsena’s Jack Wilshere has his say on ‘unbelievable’ Liverpool
Jack Wilshere risks wrath of parent club Arsenal after delivering a glowing verdict on Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool side
Jack Wilshere has hailed “unbelievable” Liverpool ahead of Bournemouth’s clash against the title contenders in the Premier League on Sunday.
The Reds were 4-3 winners against Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal side at the Emirates Stadium in their opening fixture of the 2016-17 season.
Wilshere was sat on the bench as Liverpool eased to a comfortable victory despite late Arsenal goals from Laurent Koscielny and Calum Chambers.
The England international has since moved to Bournemouth on a season-long loan after failing to tie down a regular starting spot in north London.
Liverpool are in second place in the table and a point behind leaders Chelsea after scoring 32 times in 13 Premier League games so far.
And Wilshere heaped praise on Jurgen Klopp’s side despite Liverpool rivalling his parent club Arsenal for the title.
“They’re a good team,” Wilshere is quoted as saying by Metro.
“When I was at Arsenal for the first game of the season when we played them I was on the bench and they were unbelievable.
“They press from the front, when we lost the ball they pressed straight away and won it in dangerous positions so we know what we’re going to get from them.”
Liverpool have never won the Premier League title despite finishing in second place in 2002, 2009 and 2014.
The Reds signed seven players in the summer transfer window after finishing in eighth place under Klopp in the 2015-16 season.
