Arsene Wenger issues challenge to Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain at Arsenal this season

Arsene Wenger explains what has changed for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain at Arsenal this season

Arsene Wenger has challenged Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to keep up his improved form for Arsenal so far this season.

The England midfielder has produced some improved displays for the north London side this term and scored Arsenal’s fourth goal in their 5-1 demolition of West Ham United in the Premier League at the weekend.

Many Arsenal fans will have been hoping that Oxlade-Chamberlain could have held down a regular spot in the starting line-up in recent seasons given the length of time he has been at the club.

However, Arsenal boss Wenger says that he has been encouraged by what he has seen from Oxlade-Chamberlain so far this season and is expecting him to continue to improve.

Speaking in an interview with Arsenal’s website, Wenger said: “He has made a lot of progress this season. He plays with a freedom and power.

“When he wins the ball in your half he has that power to get you out.

“I hope that continues for him.”
