Arsene Wenger replies when asked about his future at Arsenal beyond the summer

Arsene Wenger discusses his future at Arsenal beyond next summer

Arsene Wenger remained typically coy when quizzed about his future at Arsenal beyond next summer.

The Gunners boss’ current contract is set to expire in the summer of 2017 and it remains to be seen whether he will extend his stay at The Emirates beyond next year.

The futures of Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil have been the subject of much speculation in recent weeks.

Wenger’s future and his plans about whether to stay on at Arsenal beyond next summer could well end up having a bearing on discussions with the two players.

However, Wenger was giving little away when quizzed about his future in the build-up to Arsenal’s clash with Everton on Tuesday night.

Asked about his own future, Wenger told a news conference on Monday morning: “My head and my heart tells me not to talk about that!

“We are all focused on targets that are of course this season. We don’t have time or energy to think about the rest.

“I’ve told you many times that I want to do as well as I can for this club for as long as I’m here.”
