Arsene Wenger: This is how Alexis Sanchez has improved for Arsenal
Arsene Wenger lavishes praise on Alexis Sanchez for his recent improvements for Arsenal
Arsene Wenger believes that Alexis Sanchez has improved the tactical side of his game since his arrival at Arsenal.
The Chile international has earned a reputation as one of the Premier League’s top attacking players since his transfer to the north London club from Barcelona in 2014.
Sanchez has been a regular fixture in the Arsenal first team since his arrival at the club, and the Chilean scored twice in the Gunners’s 3-1 win over Bournemouth at The Emirates at the weekend.
Wenger has, of course, been delighted with the improvements Sanchez has made to his game in recent seasons.
And the Frenchman believes that the 27-year-old has become more mature in his tactical understanding of the game.
Speaking in an interview with Arsenal’s website, Wenger said: “I believe on a tactical front he has improved much more, he works much more for the team and when it’s needed during games, he works very hard for the team.
“I think he has improved a lot on [running effectively]. He’s more conscious of his responsibilities and he is an intelligent player.
“He understands what he has to do and I believe he’s more willing to help the team.”
Sanchez and his Arsenal team-mates will now prepare for their Premier League trip to West Ham United on Saturday night.
The north London side are currently three points behind leaders Chelsea after 13 games of the new season.
