Ashley Cole has a blunt warning for Chelsea about Tottenham

Ashley Cole warns Chelsea to be ready for a stern test of their title hopes against Tottenham on 4 January

Ashley Cole has warned Chelsea that Tottenham are the team that will pose the biggest threat to stopping their title bid in the new year.

Chelsea continued their stunning form in the Premier League when they secured a 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Saturday afternoon to continue their brilliant run in the top flight.

The Blues have now won 11 games on the spin and are firmly leading the way to win the Premier League title this season.

Their upturn in form has been in stark contrast to their performances last season, when they struggled to produce consistent displays and ended up 10th in the table.

However, although former Chelsea star Cole has been impressed by what he’s seen from Antonio Conte’s side in recent weeks, he feels that their trip to Tottenham on 4 January could prove their biggest test of the season so far.

Speaking to Sky Sports after Chelsea’s 1-0 win over Palace, Cole said: “Going to Spurs will be difficult.

“If there is any team that could stop them at home, it could be Spurs.
