Michael Owen states his prediction for Bournemouth v Liverpool
Michael Owen looks ahead Liverpool's trip to Bournemouth in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon
Michael Owen is backing Liverpool to continue their good form by beating Bournemouth in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.
Jurgen Klopp’s men have been in fine form in recent weeks and head into their clash against Eddie Howe’s men fresh from booking their place in the League Cup semi-finals with a 2-0 win over Leeds United.
Liverpool were also 2-0 winners against Sunderland at Anfield in the Premier League last weekend as they kept up their fine form in the top flight.
The Reds are currently second in the table and just a point behind leaders Chelsea after 13 games of the new season.
And former Liverpool striker Owen is backing the Reds to continue their strong form when they take on Bournemouth on Sunday lunchtime.
Writing in his column for BetVictor, Owen said: “The Cherries have never beaten Liverpool in any competition, first met in 1927, and I can’t see Eddie Howe’s side bucking that trend on the south coast this weekend.
“I hope to see Roberto Firmino and Adam Lallana back in the Reds’ side sooner rather than later, given the injury to my player-of-the-season so far Philippe Coutinho, and I expect to see another win for this burgeoning Liverpool side.”
Liverpool are aiming to at least break back into the top four this season following the Reds’ eighth-placed finish in the top flight last term.
Klopp was appointed as Brendan Rodgers’ permanent successor at Anfield back in October 2015.
