Cesc Fabregas has a blunt warning to doubters ahead of Palace v Chelsea
Cesc Fabregas says he is determined to fight for a spot in the Chelsea team after firing the Blues to victory at Sunderland
Cesc Fabregas has vowed to prove his doubters wrong and show what he can do for Chelsea in the coming games.
The Spaniard has found his first team opportunities somewhat restricted this season following the appointment of Antonio Conte as the club’s new manager in the summer.
Indeed, Fabregas has only started three Premier League games for the Blues so far this season.
But the 29-year-old has begun to prove his worth to the Blues in recent games and the midfielder scored the winner in Chelsea’s 1-0 victory over Sunderland at the Stadium of Light on Wednesday night as the Blues made it 10 wins on the spin in the top flight.
And Fabregas says that he is determined to prove his doubters wrong and earn a regular spot in the Chelsea team in the coming days.
Fabregas is quoted as saying by The Daily Star: “In football today people forget very, very, very quickly who you are, and what you can do.
“Hopefully now I can get a run of games in the team.
“People forget that tonight is just the second time in my life that I have played this system.
“I am getting used to it, I have lots of players in front of me in space and protection behind me.”
Chelsea return to Premier League action with a trip to Crystal Palace on Saturday in what will be their final game before Christmas.
