Chelsea legend’s response when asked if Arsenal can win the title

Former Chelsea striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink delivers his verdict on Arsenal's title prospects

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink believes Arsenal will challenge for the Premier League title this season.

The Gunners are in second place in the Premier League table and three points behind leaders Chelsea after their 5-1 win against West Ham United in the London derby on Saturday.

Alexis Sanchez scored a second-half hat-trick at the London Stadium, while Germany international Mesut Ozil and England midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain also found the net.

Arsenal haven’t lost a Premier League game since a 4-3 loss to Liverpool in their opening fixture of the 2016-17 season after an impressive 13-game unbeaten run in the English top flight.

Arsene Wenger hasn’t led his Arsenal side to the Premier League crown since 2003-04 when Thierry Henry and Patrick Vieira helped the Gunners to go unbeaten throughout the campaign.

Former Chelsea striker Hasselbaink believes Arsenal will challenge Chelsea and Manchester City for the Premier League crown in the 2016-17 campaign after their impressive win at the London Stadium.

“They will challenge. I don’t know if they will win it because it’s still way too early. December hasn’t passed yet,” Hasselbaink told Sky Sports.
