Michael Owen states his prediction for Chelsea v Stoke

Michael Owen looks ahead to Chelsea's clash with Stoke at Stamford Bridge this weekend

Michael Owen is fully expecting to see Chelsea continue their strong form in the Premier League by beating Stoke City at Stamford Bridge this weekend.

The west London side have been the Premier League’s top performers this season and have won their last 12 games in a row to leave them six points clear at the top of the Premier League table.

Chelsea have established themselves as the firm favourites to win the title this season thanks to their impressive performances under new manager Antonio Conte.

The Blues were 3-0 winners over Bournemouth on Boxing Day at Stamford Bridge in their most recent top flight outing.

Stoke, meanwhile, were beaten 4-1 by Liverpool at Anfield on Tuesday night.

And former Manchester United striker Owen is fully expecting the Blues to claim all three points against the Potters.

Writing in his column for BetVictor, Owen said: “Stoke took four points out of the title favourites last season but I can’t see them getting anything at Stamford Bridge against a Chelsea side whose winning run will come to an end at some stage – but not perhaps at the hands of the Potters managed by former Blues’ striker Mark Hughes.”
