Chelsea want to sign Premier League striker in January – report
Antonio Conte wants Chelsea to sign Swansea City striker Fernando Llorente in January, according to AS
Chelsea want to make a move to sign Fernando Llorente from Swansea City in the January transfer window, according to reports in Spain.
Spanish newspaper AS is reporting that Blues boss Antonio Conte is keen to bring the forward to Stamford Bridge to provide back-up to first-choice striker Diego Costa at the west London club.
Chelsea have been in fine form this season and Costa has been one of the Premier League’s standout players this term, helping to fire the Blues to the top of the table.
However, there have been concerns about whether Chelsea would be able to cope without the Spanish forward should he be sidelined due to injury later in the season.
Conte is familiar with Llorente from their season together at Juventus as they won the Serie A and Supercoppa Italiana.
And the report in the Spanish newspaper claims that Conte has told Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich to make a move to sign Llorente next month.
Chelsea are currently flying high at the top of the Premier League as they prepare for their trip to Tottenham on Wednesday night.
