Chris Sutton: This is what Chelsea need in the January transfer window

Chris Sutton makes a prediction about Chelsea's January transfer business...

Chris Sutton does not believe that Chelsea need to sign any players in the January transfer window because the the strength of the current squad.

The Blues have emerged as the favourites to win the Premier League title this season following Antonio Conte’s appointment as the club’s new boss in the summer.

Chelsea have guaranteed themselves top spot over Christmas after a remarkable run of form under their new manager.

Their sharp upturn in form is in stark contrast to their disappointing displays last season, when they ended up 10th in the table and without a trophy following Jose Mourinho’s sacking.

With the January transfer window drawing ever nearer, there is bound to be plenty of speculation about who the Blues could sign in the new year.

However, Sutton feels that keeping their current crop of players fit is more important than bringing in new recruits.

Speaking to The Daily Mail, Sutton said: Their first 11 is incredibly strong so I don’t think they need to add much in January.
